I really enjoyed the plot and how relatable the main character was. The ending was a bit rushed but still good. The story of a girl called beauty which her life will change due to the incident that happened to her father and meeting a…

Ah yes, Beauty and the Beast: the classic fairy tale about Stockholm Syndrome. I have to admit that I am enough of a fan of this story (and of modern retellings of fairy tales generally) to have sought out the live action version last…

A bit too rushed at the end, but still a warm, enchanting rendition of this story. I loved Beauty's characterization: practical and awkward, but also curious and intellectual.

This is a lovely retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and melds the original tale with the Disney version rather sweetly. The writing is...I think graceful is the best word for it. And it's a quick read, as well. I can see why people…

Really enjoyable retelling of this classic tale. Though I admit I found the ending to be rushed and somewhat confusing. Otherwise a great read with a compelling romance.

Without question, the best Beauty and the Beast re-telling I've ever read. The storyline was so charming, and the characterization was amazing. I can't believe how the characters seemed to become real. I thought I really knew them. A…

This book is why I became a librarian! After watching Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" in the theater (no, we're not going to discuss how old that makes me!), I went to the library to find a book about the same story. I vividly remember…

It's been so long since I sat down and read a whole book in one sitting. Beauty captured me from word one. Growing up beauty and the beast had always been my favourite disney movie. Beauty inspired my love with her love of books and her…

A really lovely retelling of "Beauty and the Beast", rich with detail and original subplots. I highly recommend this book.

This book is absolutely wonderful. She wrote this way before the Disney adaptation and it is such a good version of Beauty and the Beast. I would also recommend reading her second retelling, written nearly 20 years later, called "Rose…

Not sure what the deal was, but I found this book very hard to read. It kind of drug on and then it ended abruptly, I felt, compared to the pace of the rest of the story. I did enjoy this different take on the tale though. In the end, it…

I first read this novel as a child and I've loved it ever since. The ending is a bit rushed, but the storytelling is beautiful!

Enchanting. Beauty is strong, adaptable, and intelligent, and because the story is told from her point of view, we hear her thoughts and her worries, which makes her a well-rounded character. Her counterpart of the Beast is charming, and…

An amazing read! An in-depth adaptation of the favorite childhood fairy tale.

Maybe it's just because this book was intended for younger audiences, but I found it very forgettable. Beauty doesn't meet the beast until more than halfway through the novel, and that first half was less than riveting. The latter half was…

Amazing book! You have to be able to get through the details to finish it. If you get through those parts then it is a really enjoyable book. Very good author too.

Exquisite this book was wonderful. Would recommend it for anyone who likes romance and really any kind of adventure!!!!! The ending was very rushed in the last chapter, there should have been at least one more just so that there could have…

I’ve always wanted to read something by Robin McKinley, I’ve seen her books around in the book stores and libraries but I never read any of them. It one of those things where you say to yourself I will pick up her book next time I am here.…
