Unrealistic - Lopez's young one-night stand seems too old for the role. Movie violently depicts psycho attraction where he stops at no end for her attraction.
Ugh. Was this a high school production!? Absolute nonsense, silly unnatural dialog, and to top it off, nobody in the movie can act! If not for the bigger budget, this would look like a Tommy Wiseau movie.
Boring and a drag to watch. Lopez movies went downhill after Maid in Manhattan, The Wedding Planner, and Enough. I definitely would not recommend this movie
A new boy moves in next to a high school teacher’s house. Claire has a son and she had just recently divorced her husband. The boy, whose name is Noah and played by Ryan Guzman, slowly becomes very good friends with the high school teacher, whose name is Claire Peterson and played by Jennifer Lopez. However, this friendship may not have been the best one as it progresses into something that is not good for Claire. Noah is not the good, polite young man she may have thought he was, but is more violent and dangerous than she could have ever imagined.

Steamy. Good for a movie filmed in 22 days. From a business perspective, it's a successful movie since only $4M was spent but it grossed >$30M. JLo did a good job with the varying emotions. Not recommended for ages < 16 yrs old because the depicted behavior is illegal in Canada under that age.
What a load. THE BOY NEXT DOOR was embarrassingly lacklustre. I actually feel bad for Jennifer Lopez for being in it. Gone are the days of tasteful thrillers like OUT OF SIGHT for her. THE BOY NEXT DOOR was boring and slow and ridiculously overslathered gunk. I recommend that nobody watch it. You can't get that time back.
Entertaining movie. Reminds me of thrillers such as Fatal Attraction & Obsessed. J-Lo is beautiful of course.
I could swear I saw this movie a couple years ago with Lopez...cant remember the name but its damn near identical ...anyhow, your basic TV movie of the week that has been done to death...if you are NEW to this type of movie then you might enjoy it for what it is.
Jennifer Lopez plays a woman who makes every stupid mistake possible. Not sure why she wanted to produce such a weak script and act as such a foolish woman. One frequently wishes she would expire at the next foolish act.
Leaving aside the faux-thriller theme and its glorified line reading by most of the line-readers in this lifetime-esque film's cast, it actually made me want to go take some ninjutsu and taekwondo lessons. Seriously, at some point during the film, I paused and actually googled these martial arts as well as some life-hack survival tips...a girl needs to know that when she crosses paths with a deranged psychopathic neanderthal masquerading as a human...she has a bit of flying kick and hogtying skills in her arsenal. And unlike Claire (Jennifer Lopez), when I one-and-done slap a psycho with a wrench he needs to stay down for the count. Just saying.
Patron ratings low. Slow start but picked up toward the end.
Should be called a stalker movie. Hollywood over did the ending.
This movie was okay. I felt that the movie moved along too fast. I would have have liked the movie to have been a little more realistic. I felt the "boy next door" Noah (Ryan Guzman) needed to work on his acting in certain scenes. But he is a hottie. I would have liked to see Jennifer Lopez add more emotion to some of the serious scenes. The movie had some sexy moments and some dark humor moments. I would probably watch it again. But I could have and have seen better on LifeTime.
This movie was ok..Nothing to get excited about. I put it in the same line as Jennifer Lopez movie "Enough"
I thought it was going to be a good suspense movie, but it was a dud! Could have been better.
I like the muvie, it could it be better it was jlo though the director or the one who make up the story somethin like that...
Provided some JUMP moments and some "what was she thinking moments" ...Predictable but worth the time.
How can you not like Jenny from the block???
