What an adventure! It's been a long time since I read such an inspiring book. A little quirky in regards to Neb & the island's resources, but overall clean writing and a deep plot. It's as good as philosophical literature for discussion and reflection but with a greater sense of awe and wonder. I definitely recommend it, but because of some references, I recommend reading Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea first.

Jules Verne was definitely ahead of his time and this novel is purely science fiction at one of its bests. The plot develops even up until the end and keeps you on your toes! You might want to read "20 000 Leagues Under The Sea" first because this book does reference it.
