A perfect example of an
attempt to jump on the patriotism/national tragedy bandwagon, without making
any particular attempts at plot, rationality, or even acting. (None of those involved deserve any kind of further acting career, with the possible exception of a rather weird sexpot realtor.) It won numerous awards at "international" film
festivals, almost all of them within 50 miles of the filming location. "You should know there is something wrong with a film when the jacket description has typos." (It says all "American's" should see this film.)

"Set in a picturesque [I guess there are different standards for "picturesque"] seaside town on the Jersey Shore in the midst of a cold and bitter winter [well, everybody seems to spend most of the time outside just in a jacket], we are introduced to Tim Lawson, a wounded [having had some paramedical background, that is the worst and most inconsistent wound I have ever seen], disillusioned soldier of the Iraq War. He returns to his hometown on medical leave in an attempt to reclaim a simpler time in his life [he doesn't actually seem to have any idea why he is there], after experiencing the horrors of war. By chance he meets Clare O'Neil, a model-beautiful woman whose life has been turned upside down by a fatal accident, forever bonding her personal loss to a nation's sorrow." That last seems to indicate that her spouse and child were killed in 9/11, but, when we finally find out, it was just your basic, common-or-garden car accident. (I assume the other driver was coming home from work in either a loaded semi-trailer or a high-speed tank.)
