Add a CommentAfter reading "What the Ladybird Heard" with my toddler, Julia Donaldson remains hands down our favourite author. The cover of this excellent book contains beautiful illustrations and a tactile, glittery raised design. This theme continues throughout the pages as each contains a hidden ladybird and sometimes her trail. Thus, young children can feel as well as look for the bug.
The clever, entertaining story describes how a collection of farm animals plus the ladybird outwit two thieves trying to steal the farmer's prized cow. Lots of opportunity for animal noises and laughter!
Both my 2 and 6 year olds enjoyed it, with the little one wanting it (at least) every night for a week. :)
