A nine-decade rivalry between the Hammond and Hicks families turns violent after a dishonored soldier's name is added to the World War I memorial in Midsomer Parva. When the Hicks patriarch is shot dead, suspicion naturally falls back onto the Hammonds. As the investigation proceeds, however, it appears that the two families have much more in common than they originally believed.

"Shot at dawn" has two disgusting families seeking ways to undo each other, publicly and privately. Ridiculous plot. A woman impregnated by her father-in-law because her husband is homosexual. A murderer who is an explosives expert trying to revenge himself for a wrong done 80 years ago? The murderer is in a wheel chair but no one seems to notice his opportunistic disappearances just before murders occur?

Closed-captions are very poor quality: Tiny, white lower-case blurry letters. Very hard to read.

All those sleep scientists who say watching TV at night causes insomnia should try finishing an episode of Midsomer Murders-- if you could bottle it, you'd make a fortune. Once again, I woke up at the end credits, and had to rewatch the next day. It's just so flannel-cozy and Barnaby is so reassuring. It's set in modern day, but the murder weapon is a hatpin -- that the victim actually still uses! I loved the surprise at the ending.

#60 in the series. -Barnaby's daughter, Cully is to be married . Everything possible goes wrong putting a lot of pressure on Barnaby as he deals with the list of murders that happen in the stately home of a toffee-nosed upper crust family. Very good.

This was the most complicated "Midsomer" I've watched. It was good!
I can't believe Barnaby is leaving the show :-(
