Years earlier, Jacobi "Jake" Tiptree denied a man a loan who was then killed by loan-shark enforcers. Now the man's son blames Jake, and he wants Jake to feel as hunted as his father was. The stakes are raised as Jake is threatened in the one place she knows how to repair - her home. Tense, thrilling and chilling, "Knockdown" builds to a fiery climax, one that puts not only its heroine but the entire town at risk.

Great series - but I agree with the previous two reviewers.

I'll agree with bookfanatic1979. Somebody from her old, bad life comes after Jake, and she has to survive somehow. It's not as satisfying as earlier books in the series.

The last couple of entries in this series seem to have focused more on Jake and her trouble than an outside murder to investigate—something I miss from the earlier books in the series. I’m almost to the point where I question whether I want to continue with these books.
