This book kept me on the edge of my seat with suspenseful plot twists it also kept me thinking of what was going to happen next I would give this book 4 and a half stars and the whole series 5 stars and would say it is the best series I have read

Despite the super dooper girlishness this is a fast-paced action packed story with a few good little twisties.

although I haven't read the book just yet, by reading through the comments i found out that Nora and Patch break up. Does this mean that he's done being her guardian angel? and what is it between that girl Marcie and Patch? I hate Marcie so much! Do they fix things later? I mean Nora and Patch. Please respond. Thanks! And I totally ship Nora and Patch. I don't know what name though. LOL Oh, and do Patch and Nora get back together at the end of the book? Or not? Sorry I totally want spoilers for me because I can't handle Nora and Patch not being together.

This novel is the first installation of my favourite series. Fitzpatrick has an amazingly unique writing style and really captures the moment of what she wants a person to see while reading. I absolutely love the characters themselves, like Nora; she’s smart, witty, funny and seems like someone I could know in real life. I love reading about the change of relationship between the characters of Nora and Patch and learning more about where they both come from. I would definitely recommend reading this novel to anyone that has an interest in romantic supernatural novels.

Nora's life is far from perfect even though she and Patch are together and have moved on from the crazy events that've happened in the last couple of months. It's not until Patch starts acting shady that things start to go wrong. Patch is hanging around the one person Nora can't stand and her mother is trying to set her up with an old family friend that has just moved back to Coldwater and she's having visions of seeing her dead father. Nora will stop at nothing to get answers she's seeking.
This is the second book in the hush hush series and dangerous events and the drama never stop. Nora finally has a decent life again only to have it taken away again. It seems like nothing is going right for her anymore and she's more confused than ever which makes for an interesting read. Rating 5 out of 5 stars.

After reading Hush Hush, I didn't dive right into the sequel because at first I wasn't too interested in reading further. But I decided to give it a shot and I am so glad I picked up the sequel because it was really good. So good that I read it in just over twenty-four hours. It was even better than the first one and I just couldn't put down this book. I think the reason why I like this book so much is because Nora has to deal with problems actual teens face with today. Well, except for the fact that she has a boyfriend who is a guardian angel. I began to have a strong hate toward Patch in this book because of some of the choices he made making me want to yell at him but near the end of the book it was all good . . . until bam!— something happens leaving us all at a cliffhanger for the next book. There was quite a lot of action in this book and I like the mystery vibe the book gives off. I can never predict what is going to happen and I honestly can't wait to see what is going to happen in the third book. Overall, I give this book 4 stars.

Fallen angels! Interesting love story twist! Sarcastic characters in awkward, maybe even life-threatening situations! Why not? At least, that is what I told myself when I first picked up this book at the library. This unseeingly strange plot twist kind of threw my off my comfortable seat for a long time. It was very difficult to continue reading after I understood what had happened. Nor seems to undergo characteristic changes that I cannot pinpoint exactly, but it is almost like her personality is changing. There isn't as much suspense, or so I felt. But be strong, and continue on! 4/5 stars

Really good. But compared to the first it was a little disappointing.

I kind of don't know how to feel about this book. The first half was just SOOOO annoying. Okay, spoilers from this point on.
Like, I get it now that Nora is in love with Patch, but when she believed her love was not reciprocated she was just SO FRUSTRATING! Like, dude, I want to smack you upside the head because you're being pathetic right now. I mean, first the pain of it was understandable, but putting yourself in dangerous and/or going out of your way to be around the object of your pain, that I couldn't stand. Sure sure, she needed to 'get him out of her system', but I just kept thinking that the way Nora couldn't make a decision without having Patch in the back of her mind was just sad and pathetic. It was hard to read that. But, the ending may have made up for everything.
First, Scott. The scary, unnerving, shady 'family friend' that is not only a gambling addict, but is also a paranoid Nephilim. Great. He was so creepy and off-putting in the beginning that I really hated his character. Then when he goes after Nora for the Black Hand ring, I thought it was going to be another psychotic killer like Eliot (Nora sure attracts quite the unfortunate crowd). But when I found out that Scott was purposefully being a jerk because he felt guilty for not watching out for her dad, that he really didn't know anything about being a Nephil, and that paranoia was really his only driving force, I warmed up to him fast. Especially after his admittedly sad effort to save Nora by getting shot multiple times, and then buying her a car. Strangely, I look forward to seeing more of him in the future.
Now. Rixon.
Why is it that all of Vee's boyfriends want to kill Nora? Seriously, I mean, geesh.
From the beginning he was planning to sacrifice her, trying to dissuade Patch from doing it first. When perfect circumstances arose, he struck, making Nora distrust Patch, trying to make her think she was seeing her father, and eventually getting her alone to kill her. I am kind of sad about this, because he had been such a great side character, but now that his true intentions have been revealed, I'm glad Patch sent him to hell. But still. Wow.
Oh, and then the whole reason Rixon wanted to sacrifice her (and why Marcie hates her). Marcie's dad, Hank is really Nora's dad. Mind-blown. Nora was a descendant of both Rixon and Patch's vessals. Goodness golly goshness.
Okay, so Patch came to the rescue and saved her from Rixon. Detective Basso seems to be more protective and concerned for Nora now that her life has been put in serious danger (I wonder how he will develop, if we'll be seeing more of him now). By leaving his charge, Marcie, Patch has now gone rogue and is on the run from the archangels. Nora finally got to see Patch's place (at Delphic. Haha wow). Oh yea, and Hank (and some other Nephilim) grabbed Patch (I think they believe he's still fallen) and Nora, and he's claiming to be behind the Nephilim blood society. Hank is the Black Hand. The reason Scott got branded. Maybe the reason Nora's adoptive dad got killed. The driving force behind keeping Nephil from being vessals for fallen angels (who will then turn to human bodies which will die after two weeks of possession).

I held out my hot dog, which had grown cold. "Do you want this?" "No way. You're going to need it. If anything bad happens, just take a bite. Ten seconds later, you'll feel all warm and happy inside." :P

"I lied," I confessed shakily. I swallowed, trying to inject a measure of calm into my voice. "The thing is, I really wanted to ask Scott to the Summer Solstice party at Delphic, but I couldn't bring myself to do it in person. This is really alkward." I walked to the desk and offered him the hotdog along with the scrap of paper I'd scribbled the note on. "'Don't be a wiener,'" Scott read. "'Go to Summer Solstice with me.'" "Well? What do you think?" I tried to hold a smile. "Do you want to be a wiener or not?"

"You want my help or not?" "You call this help?" I hissed furiously. "This isn't help!" He spun his keychainaround his finger, then started to walk away. "You are such a jerk! Get back here!"

The back:
Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it. A mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever (if that's possible) and what's worse, he seems to be spending time with Nora's archenemy, Marcie Millar.
Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadn't been acting so distant. Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude, Nora finds herself drawn to him--despite her lingering feelings that he is hiding something.
If that weren't enough, Nora is haunted by images of her murdered father, and comes to question whether her Nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death. Desperate to figure out what happened, she puts herself in increasingly dangerous situations to get the answer. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything--and everyone--she trusts.

Dec 16, 2010
