Add a CommentSet in the make-believe world of Monstropolis, where everyone's a literal monster (but usually a nice monster), we find that this urban centre's electrical power is generated from harnessing the screams of human children who are, nightly, scared out of their wits by the hideous, growling creatures who emerge, like demons, from out of their darkened, bedroom closets.
For the most part, I enjoyed "Monsters, Inc." and found it to be quite imaginative as it told its cute, little tale of forbidden friendship and defying authority.

I get what Pixar was trying to do here, but the ending is where it lost me. I feel like a much more practical segue would've been monsters transitioning into imaginary friends.
I liked this cartoon DVD. The graphics were well done. The story is strong. It is good for all ages. However, some scenes may be too scary for young kids. Monster, Inc is the sequel for Monster University. I recommend watching them in the proper order. Previously: Rivals become friends instead of foes. Together they keep evil under control with the love and good intentions. Now: They learn that love and laughter is stronger than fear and screams. They save a child from danger.
I have seen this movie dozens of times. Yet when I watch it I still die laughing. That is a great sign! One of Disney's Best! I you have not seen this, stop whatever you are doing and borrow this movie.
One of my all time favorite Pixar movies, a sweet story about the Monsters who are in our closets.
Sweet movie!
last scene was messed up, would not play.
Absolutely one of the best Pixar movies ever! A great film for the family.
Monsters, Inc. is a clever and iconic movie. The characters and storyline are all very unique, which makes this movie entertaining and memorable. Mike and Sully are very likeable, as is the cute little girl, named Boo. The events of the film have lots of action, humour, and suspense. I like the movie’s idea of monsters being among us, and thought that the way that they were portrayed could help kids who are afraid of a monster “under their bed”. I would definitely recommend this movie to other viewers, because it is fun, engaging and creative. Adults and kids alike will enjoy and be entertained by this movie! Rating 4/5

One of the best Pixar movies since Toy Story and Cars. Monsters. Inc is such a wonderous movie, answering the question of where the monster under the bed comes from. To the story to the soundtrack, there is a lot to look forward to. The connection between Sully and Boo was great to watch, with the love of Sully slowly growing over time for Boo, to the point of him being a father type figure for her. It was also nice to see the friendship between Mike and Sully be tested, like Sully making the decision to leave him for Boo, or Mike pour out his feelings to Sully after he done that. The twist at the end where we find out the honorable Waternoose, who just wanted his family business to live on, was the same monster who was working with Randel to build a painful child scream extractor, and banish Sully and Mike to the human world. What a surprise there! The last thing that makes Monsters. Inc such a great movie, is the soundtrack. The jazz music at the intro was a pleasure to listen to, and somber music that played when Sully was saying goodbye to Boo was spot on. It really captures the emotion of letting someone you love go. So all in all, Monsters. Incs is a total must watch in my opinion. It scares, because it cares. @BooksRUs of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
