Mexican drug cartels are shooting up the streets of Laredo and El Paso. Somali pirates are holding three U.S. tankers for ransom. The President is fed up and has what he thinks is a pretty bright idea - to get hold of Colonel Charley Castillo and his merry band and put them on the case. How will it all play out? Butterworth and his son (Bill) have long ago given up writing anything original.
Now each book or series for that matter basically follows the previous series. The only thing that changes is the names. The characters remain the same.
If I was the person who buys books for our local library I would give their next book a miss.

If you're looking for a good mystery book, stay as far from this book as you can.

This book is a major disappointment to fans of this author. Fortunately, I didn't bother to buy a copy and will be cautious about reading anything of his in the future. Charley and his associates deserved a better finale than this stinker!

I have read nearly all of this author's books and this is the worst. The first 100 pages retell what has happened in the previous books in this series and the next 100 pages rehash the first 100 pages and then it ends with a whimper, a supposedly funny joke. I am certainly glad that I used the library book and did not invest money in it. I think that a Harlequin romance would have a better plot, dialogue and be able to hold my interest better. In the afterword, the author explains that he had trouble writing the book. I truly wish that he had not bothered and saved me the trouble of reading this pathetic effort.
Bottom line: do not waste your time reading this. As they say: "You'll be sorry."

Until this book I have enjoyed all of his books that I have read but this one plain out right stunk inaccurate histories and as the one person said quoting author their mash novel. They have a responsibility to their readership to write good novels not this piece of crap. I do not recommend this book to any other loyal readers do not waste your money. In this book I am affraid the library wasted money as this appears just to be a cash grab as it was not a book they spent much time writing.

More of the same old same old from this author. He seems to believe that only the wealthy have any contribution to make in this world.
