Loved the first book, love this one too! The second book in the Cahill Witch Chronicles is just as exciting as "Born Wicked" with the twist and turns of Cate and her sisters and Finn. I couldn't stop reading- it was written so beautifully that I could really connect with the story. (The ending had a big twist and you would just want to get onto the next book. :P) I love the Cahill Witch Chronicles!!! <3

The second book in the Cahill Witch Chronicles, “Star Cursed” brings us back to the New England world of witches, oppression, and prophesy with an otherworldly new tale of the Cahill sisters. Full of romance, intrigue, and betrayal, Star Cursed is a thrilling sequel that ends on a cliff hanger that will leave you screaming for more. The plot is intensified ten times, and the characters you loved in the first book will make you love them even more. Let this be a warning, anyone with an impatient-fan girl-syndrome should read the ending with caution, I repeat, read it at your own risk!
Cate has given up all her hopes in order to save her sisters and the man she loves. Now as a member of the Sisterhood--a secret group of witches masquerading as an order of nuns--she faces the immense pressure of being "the chosen one," because an oracle years before foresaw that one of three sisters, one gifted with mind-magic, would lead the realm out of the tyranny of the Brotherhood and into a new golden era of magic. But when a new prophesy is made by the current oracle--Brenna--that one of the sisters will also be gifted with the Sight, Cate comes to question her role in everything. With her sisters arriving at the convent as well, and Finn's arrival in New London, Cate is surrounded by choices, by friends and enemies, and must choose whether to lead or follow. And if that choice is made incorrectly, everything will be lost.
Cate, the eldest sister, was once again such an independent and charismatic heroine to follow. We left off in Born Wicked thinking she was the prophesied witch that everyone was looking for (naturally the main character just HAS to be the chosen one *says it sarcastically*). But it seems like that’s not the case… She has matured and grown so much in this book both emotionally and power-wise. She went from always being the mother hen actually letting her sisters be themselves and it was such a beautiful thing! When she realizes that her magic isn't all bad, that’s when she was able to let go (LET IT GO! LET IT GO! CAN’T HOLD IT BACK ANYMORE) and becomes someone whom the readers could truly root for. Moving on to the second sister Maura, now this is a different story. The only new thing I learned about this character is that she is pure evil plus a spoonful of stupidity. She really hasn't learned anything from her experiences, and her actions only seems to escalate, she is better at being conniving, bitter and all around sinister! I wonder if the first book’s title is inspired after her… I’ll admit there are moments in the book when you can see how truly vulnerable she is, and though those moments are rare, my heart sympathize for her in those precious seconds. That is until her fits of jealousy emerge and you see how horrible she can be. The things she says and does to Cate is just heartbreaking! She’s lucky her older sister is Cate and not me. Tess, while she was already a great character in Born Wicked, we see her in a much more mature role in Star Cursed. She is such a loveable sister that I just want to give her a big hug. Filled with stunning revelations and heart-wrenching turns, Star Cursed is an excellent sequel. And with its shocking ending it's sure to grip you nice and tight before the plunge into book three.

Amazing sequel! This series has captured my heart, all the characters are so strong and they feel so real. Jessica Spotswood has created a world for women to fear and yet at the same time a revolution is coming. I can't wait for book 3, you can tell there is so much more to come from Jessica!

Cate Cahill and her sisters-Maura and Tess, return in the second book of the Cahill Witch Chronicles, this time, things are different.
Cate has sacrificed everything for her sisters' safety. She has now joined the Sisterhood- a hideout of witches- and with the Brotherhood arresting girls like never before, the Cahill sisters are at sake. Even more dangerous, with the prophesies and the knowledge of the oracle.
And when Maura and Tess join the Sisterhood too, Maura shows she is determined to want to lead the witches and win the spotlight of victory, no matter what it takes. Even if it means big sacrifices. And big betrayals. Even if it means war.
