Best movie/soundtrack ever made. Period.

In reading the reviews I noted many comments about the soundtrack.
The main theme- The Gael- was written by a superb Scottish musician, Dougie MacLean. He has an amazing compendium of songs & instrumental pieces, wonderful music to check out. Not sure if library has any CD's, but there should be some!!
Movie is extremely well done, lush cinematography, gripping storyline, and of course, stupendous scoring.

A action packed romantic period movie of colonial America, native American, British & French armies. Beautifully filmed, acted and score with outstanding music. PG 13 due to warfare and hand-to-hand bloody combat. The music score itself is magnificent and thought provoking you'll always remember.

An action packed romance movie. The music complements the story well. This movie is a must if you are a history nerd!

A well done adaption of the French/Indian war on America. As the others have said it has a good action/romance feel to it. The acting is well done, the capture of the time period is also well done and the filmography of the scenery is awesome! For a historical comparison of the film to the time period can be found here:

Pretty epic old school romance/adventure with nice performances, soundtrack and photography. The action scenes were particularly well done with some great large scale battles and smaller skirmishes.

Hawkeye: No! You stay alive! If they don't kill you, they'll take you north up to the Huron lands. Submit, do you hear? You're strong! You survive! You stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will find you! No matter how long it takes, no matter how far. I will find you!

Chingachgook: "Great Spirit, and The Maker of All Life... A warrior goes to you swift and straight as an arrow shot into the sun. Welcome him, and let him take his place at the council fire of my people. He is Uncas, my son. Tell them to be patient, and ask death for speed; for they are all there, but one... I, Chingachgook -- last of the Mohicans."

Chingachgook: "The frontier moves with the sun, and pushes the Red Man of these wilderness forests in front of it, until one day... there will be nowhere left. Then our race will be no more... or be not us." Hawkeye: "That is my father's sadness talking." Chingachgook: "No, it is true. The frontier place is for people like my white son, and his woman, and their children. And one day there will be no more frontier. And men like you will go too, like the Mohicans. And new people will come, work, struggle. Some will make their life. But once... we were here."
