I believe “The Number Devil” will be best understood and enjoyed by older kids (10 and up). Overall, I liked the artwork but found that there was not enough variety in the math covered.

Such a fun book. It has provoked an interest in all things mathematical. My 8 year old read it and enjoyed it immensely. Not sure how much she learned, but she has now been introduced to Pascal's triangle, squared and triangular numbers, fibonacci numbers and so much more.

One may think that the book focuses primarily on maths, but that is not the case. The numerical world is cunningly woven into the story line to capture the attention of the reader ,all while reminding the reader of the presence of numbers in our lives.

Math enthusiasts will be amused by the number devil's teaching methods.
