In the ever-widening scope of the story, Julie Crawford is given a front-row seat to not one but two of the greatest love affairs of all time: the undeniable on-screen chemistry between Scarlett and Rhett, and the off-screen deepening love between Carole and Clark. Yet beneath the shiny faȧde, things in Hollywood are never quite what they seem, and Julie must learn to balance career aspirations and her own budding romance with outsized personalities and overheated drama on set. Vivid, romantic, and filled with Old Hollywood details, this novel will entrance, surprise, and delight readers.

very good read. same author as the dressmaker.
I might want to use this as a bookclub book.
Used as Feb 2019 book club, everyone loved it, lots of discussion about movie stars back in the 40ies.
Author writes an excellent book.

A quick fun historical fiction read for fans of old Hollywood and Gone With the Wind.

A Touch of Stardust shows Clark Gable with Carol Lombard. If you liked this book, now try Clark Gable with Loretta Young in All the Stars in the Heavens by Adriana Trigiani.

I enjoyed this book very much as well. I loved hearing about all the dramatic actions of David O. Selznick while filming Gone with the Wind. It makes me want to read the book and see the movie again. Loved the characters and the author's style of writing. Looking forward to reading "The Dressmaker" and the "Daring Ladies of Lowell" now.

Recent Smith grad Julie Crawford heads to Hollywood with the dream of being a screenwriter. We follow along for a year as she learns the ropes, all while getting immersed in the filming of 'Gone with the Wind' and the lives of Clark Gable and his soon-to-be-wife Carole Lombard.
Light reading, very fun.

What a great look at Hollywood and the creation of the movie, GONE WITH THE WIND. In fictional form, both Carole Lombard and Clark Gable became human, not just stars we see on the screen. The story revolves around Julie Crawford who came to Hollywood to be a writer. It seems she leads a charmed life, because not only does she fall in love with a Jewish writer, Carole Lombard picks her as a personal assistant, giving Julie an inside look at the romance of Carole and Clark Gable. Add to this the challenges of making GONE WITH THE WIND, and you've got a sure fire fun and interesting read about Hollywood.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. A straight -forward tale told without pages of introspection and description. Just a very entertaining read.

A fascinating story set around the making of my favourite movie, Gone with the Wind. Got totally absorbed in the book and was sorry when it ended, sign of a great read!
