In the middle of the South Pacific, a thousand feet below the surface of the water, a huge vessel rests on the ocean floor. Rushed to the scene is a group of American scientists who descend to the depths of the sea to investigate this astonishing discovery. What they find defies their imaginations and mocks their attempts at logical explanation. It is a massive spaceship, undamaged from its fall from the sky and at least three hundred years old.

The best scifi film you've probably never heard of. Based on Michael Crichton's novel of the same name, Sphere boasts excellent performances, great pacing, and a twist ending. The thing I love most about it is how plausible it all feels- even though the setting and events are extraordinary, I never felt as if I was expected to stretch my suspension of disbelief too far.

"Sphere" is very captivating. Love this movie. Not the blasting aliens kinda sci-fi, more of a thinking kinda movie, but it's all good because it's so real. Wish they would make movies about aliens who are incorporeal. Now that would be awesome!
