I had read to my children when they were young, and was so thrilled to see that it is still part of the library's collection. It is even MORE relevant today than it was when it was written.
A fun and engaging tale about sailors being captivated by a mysterious glowing stone -- and gradually losing interest in everything else, as they prefer to sit mesmerized by the stone, instead of talking, making music or doing anything creative...the stone almost dooms them....sound like anything in our lives today?
