Someone's stealing nuts from the forest, and it's up to Detective Gordon to catch the thief! Unfortunately, solving this crime means standing in the snow and waiting for a long time.... If only he had an assistant--someone small, fast, and clever―to help solve this terrible case. A brilliant detective story by one of Sweden's top children's writers and illustrated in full color throughout. A book to read alone or aloud!

Gentle and dryly humorous, this is charming like many familiar classics. Broadly appealing.

A great little mystery for kids. It even had me wondering who had stolen the nuts. The illustrations are wonderful and help keep the reader turning the page to see what is happening in the world Nilsson creates. It is funny ans sweet enough to be enjoyed by a wide range of kids. I adore that Detective Gordon thinks that literally any time he puts his stamp on a paper that makes that thing true and official.

Sweet story. Beautifully illustrated. For readers in grades 2-4, but well-suited as a family read-aloud.
