This is an odd book, in the sense that while the characters are older teens, meaning the intended audience is YA, the writing style is simple enough to appeal to more of a middle grade crowd. In any case, the premise is intriguing -- it's like Murder on the Orient Express plus steampunk (in that the train in question is traveling under the Atlantic Ocean, in a glass tunnel). The characters are a bit simplistic, but I thought the last 25% of the book was fairly exciting. The ending left the door wide open for sequels, so readers who enjoy this will likely have additional installments to look forward to.
