This book is incredibly well-written and Patricia Claxton's translation respects the tone from the original French version. The story slowly develops through the early stages of the Ugandan genocide and reaches the final culmination of the massacre that left the world reeling. The characters are authentic in that they, just like many throughout the world, could not believe that such evil could take hold. A gripping tale of ordinary people in a terrible period in African history.
