Agatha Christie's "Death in the Clouds", is an invigorating breath of fresh air that hooks you immediately with its excellent murder mystery flight drama that will have you booking a one way ticket to see through a captivating journey to the end of the book. This entry in the Poirot series is elevated by introducing a new setting in that of an intense, claustrophobic, and clue filled environment aboard a doomed flight across Europe. We are quickly introduced to a slew of new characters and intriguing plot points that will only keep you guessing and the pages continuously turning. There is a ton of self aware humor to be found here as Christie pokes fun at herself in some of the most on the nose possible ways in this book. You can tell that she really had a lot of fun writing in characters that parody herself and her work in this entry. The humor really helps to solidify the realness of the characters and their memorability for the reader as well. I really enjoyed the setting and feel of this entry as its comparable to the murder mystery's which have taken place on trains in the Poirot series before it. The well paced story, the fantastic humor, the memorable characters, and the inventive murder method make this a flight that is not to be missed.
