Interested in Greek Mythology? A fan of the Percy Jackson series? Bored and have nothing to read? Percy Jackson's Greek Gods might be perfect for you. This book recalls the ancient story of twelve of the Greek gods, from Zeus to Aphrodite, and Poseidon to Athena. Fans of the book can appreciate Percy's witty humor while telling the ancient myths making them all the more interesting. Not to mention the stunning illustrations by John Rocco, which really add to the overall story. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn about mythology in a fun way. 5 Stars - @Ruby_Tuesday of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library This book may have a large cover and huge amount of text, but in a way it is like a huge collection of bedtime stories. Narrated through the voice of Percy Jackson, (who only wanted the pizza in the contract), sparks of humour and original Greek Mythology facts are pulled into this wonderful set of stories. In here, we as readers get to learn about each of the twelve Olympians, and more to who they are behind the scenes and times. Really, these stories can be suitable for the youngest to the oldest of readers. However, the only downside to this book was that it was a bit heavy to carry home! 5/5 Stars. - @Siri of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library This is a very funny book and the types of stories that are in here are very descriptive. The sense of humour that this book is written is for any age group. It includes stories from around 3000 years ago. Some of them are about Perseus (Zeus’s son), Athene, Daedalus, Psyche, Phaethon, and Otrera. There are many more stories in this book and each has its own unique event. The only similar thing about most of them is that they all end up as a bad ending. The adventures that are in each story include a lot of action and are very tragic. I would recommend this book to people who are looking for some trouble to arise. I mean if they want to see some cold blooded action, then this book would be a really good recommendation. - @redninam of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library ‘Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods’ is very unlike the other books by Rick Riordan. The other books follow Percy Jackson’s adventures, whereas this book is him narrating the mythology and details of the 12 main Greek gods, and a few extras. It’s a modern day reading of the ancient myths, plus a few satirical comments from Percy. For those of you who have read the ancient myths of the Greek, this book will be pretty much exactly that. The creation of the gods, and the… highlights, I guess, of their myths. It’s pretty well balanced between modern day formatting and sticking to the actual ancient myths. The few extra comments from Percy Jackson are funny and, honestly, add to the otherwise kind of boring and slow few stories from the book. I would recommend this book to people interested in the ancient Greek myths, however, only if you’re not into slow and boring stories, in which case, I would instead recommend the original Greek myths- something like ‘Mythos’ by: Stephen Fry. 4/5. @Xeno of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
