An enjoyable novella with an intriguing concept and a well-paced action plot. Murderbot is a sentient robot that's more human than it cares to admit. It prefers to keep its helmet on because it finds eye contact painful, and prefers that nobody think of it as human. It desperately avoids human interaction, yet it's addicted to watching fictionalized human drama play out on a space soap-opera called Sanctuary Moon. This story explores questions of what it means to be human, and what it means to be free. It's the first in a 4-part series, so if you like it, be sure to check out the other ones too!
