I loved this book so much because of its suspense and love. This is by far the best one of the series. The Mockingjay is such a great name for this book and the meaning is so great. This book is very well written and the plot twist. From beginning to end it had me on my toes. There was some heart wrenching stuff throughout the novel which made me sad, but it was worth it for the ending. I think this should be a read for everyone because it has everything you need in a book. I give this 5/5 stars. @JJ_03_ of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Mockingjay is the final book to The Hunger Games series, and it is truly an amazing book. The main character, Katniss Everdeen, goes through a lot, and I found it very interesting to see how she was dealing with reality. I loved the ending to the book, and I think that it was overall very well written. Although I personally did not find this a problem, I think that younger ages may find some of the fighting parts disturbing. This book takes place in a dystopian society, and I would recommend it to ages 12+, or anyone who enjoyed the first two books in the Hunger Games series. @teen_reader19 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library The last novel in the Hunger Games Trilogy called Mockingjay, puts the Capitol against the twelve districts. Once the districts realize that they have a new and powerful ally in District 13, they are much more willing to fight the Capitol's soldiers. Through her televised speeches, Katiness (the main character) convinces the districts that President Snow will never treat them fairly, making war the only option. This book is by far my favourite book in the Hunger Games series. It is filled with action and adventure. The author writes in such a way that makes you want to keep reading and never put the book down. It's very descriptive so you can really imagine the characters, the setting and feel like you're right there. I would recommend this book to kids over 13+ because of some violent scenes and mature theme. My rating is 5/5! @GymGirl of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I found this book to be less enjoyable than the previous two in the series. I found it more slow-moving, and at times a bit boring. I think the lead-up to the action felt a bit prolonged, although it did act to develop character values. With all that being said, I still would recommend this novel to other readers, as it gives completion to the series. There were still a lot of questions left to be answered, and this installment did a fantastic job at doing that. Looking back at all that Katniss has gone through, I really enjoyed seeing her development throughout the series. I think that her character transformed a lot in this book alone. There were a lot of difficult moments for her character in this novel, which allows readers to further build an emotional connection. @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
